It has been a pleasure working with you on beautifying our home. With your help and expertise, we were able to turn our home from a nice looking place, to truly a showplace. Your ability to take our accessories, and place them differently, and organize them in interesting and thought provoking vignettes only added to the beauty of our home. Your help in choosing fabrics and colors also enhanced what we though looked good, only to turn into something that looked fantastic! Harold and Roberta, San Francisco Dane designed my master bath and my second hall bath – I had never worked with a designer before and was somewhat unwilling to let go and let him do his thing. But I’m glad I did, both times. He has beautiful taste and he is flexible – willing to design on a budget, willing to use a thing or two from Ikea when the design is good and durability less of a factor, and willing to recommend the gorgeous high end materials when they are perfect. His choice of color and use of light are his secret powers. Dena, Oakland We were new to San Francisco and successfully made it through a challenging remodel only to realize we really needed professional help with the next stage - selecting paint colors, floor and window coverings, and new furniture to be integrated with those pieces we planned on keeping. Dane brought his energy, imagination, and seasoned skill set to the project and the results were terrific. It felt like a seamless partnership and we love the results. As we move through our home, we never tire of recollecting with pride the decisions and selections we made with Dane's guidance and support. Becky and Bob Muscat, San Francisco Dane has a remarkable eye. His use of color, spatial relations, and of course, overall design is creative, classic and appealing. I met Dane in 1991 the first time I saw his apartment I thought it was unlike anything I had seen outside of a magazine. I remember thinking who keeps so many periodicals? Years later I realized Dane draws inspiration from a wealth of resources; magazines, architecture and nature.
I bought my first house in San Francisco in 2001. It was just a little Victorian in need of some love. The house had 6 small rooms and we decided to go bold with colors. Deep green, burnt orange and golden trim. Each room had three colors and it turned out awesome. I loved looking down the hall and seeing the contrast of colors highlighting each other. We also played with ceiling colors choosing a soft tone that seemed to change with the altering light during the day. Years later we built out a small living space in the lower level of the house. It was remarkable how Dane was able to transform a dark, dingy space into an open and inviting garden apartment. The wall facing the garden captured all the East light by incorporating large windows and a glass door. For the deck railing Dane designed a horizontal railing allowing ones eye to see more easily into the yard which became quite full and lush over the years. Dane suggested planing bamboo. The result was a soft and organic barrier to hid the unappealing aspects of urban living i.e. ugly houses and concrete backyards. think one of the best ideas incorporated into the design was an exterior spiral staircase connecting the deck to the upstairs. The design allowed light to filter into the lower unit and the stairs were quite dramatic. In 2016 we bought a house to restore in Chicago. This house is a bit larger and it will be so much fun to give the 100 year old walls a much needed paint job. I can’t wait to have Dane come out to pick colors and help execute our overall vision. We have worked with Dane for over ten years. He has had a hand in designing, or re-designing, practically every room in our house, including a complete kitchen and bathroom remodel, and upgrades to furnishings, fabrics and other design elements in our family room, master bedroom and study. Dane starts each project with an understanding of our goals and budget and then offers a range of design solutions that take our vision to the next level. Dane’s eye for color, pattern and texture is superb. He’s also brilliant at knowing how to mix modern elements into our 100- year old, San Francisco Edwardian. Dane’s creativity and attention to detail has helped us create a home that is comfortable, beautiful, and visually inviting.

Dane Wilson is a practical, straight up interior designer that gets things done. I have saved money and time working with Dane to purchase and place furnishings over the last 20 years. There is nothing more telling than a crafty homeowner that made their living space look something close to the page they pulled from a magazine. My various projects on my commercial office space, furnished rental, and more so my Airbnb have all evolved painlessly because of Dane.
Paul, San Francisco Dane Wilson assisted me in remodeling part of my Eichler house in San Jose. This included four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Overall, I consider that he has a very good judgement in the color choices for the bedroom walls and his quiet understanding of my understated tastes in the bathrooms colors. We had excellent communications. His communications with the contractor were also excellent and efficient. The bathrooms were extensively modified, with granite counters, wall to wall mirrors with lights inset, modern cabinets and bathroom fixtures fitted, floor to ceiling shower curtains installed. Both bathrooms had door modifications: in the master bathroom, a pocket door was fitted to increase the space in the tight available area; in the second bathroom, the door to the outside was fitted with glass. In all these modifications, Dane created extensive drawings for the contractor to use and knew where to find his tasteful choice of fixtures. All in all, he made a very good job of the project and I would definitely use his services again

"I had never worked with a designer before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Dane came highly recommended by a friend of mine. I decided to give it a try, and I was glad I did. He proved to be a very creative designer who did a beautiful job with my home office, kitchen, living room, bathroom, and entry hall. There was never any pressure and I really enjoyed working with him."
J. Shand, San Francisco I have had the pleasure to work with Dane on three very different projects over the last thirteen years; the first was enhancing a San Francisco loft prior to listing; the second was space planning/interior design for downsizing to a small apartment in New York and the third overseeing architectural plans interior/exterior of a mid-century modern renovation in Connecticut. Dane continues to amaze me with his talent to work with any style and to be able to envision all the elements: light, color, texture etc and pull them all together in a way that is beautiful, functional and comfortable. He is so easy to work with; he truly listens to my interests and incorporates them into the project. I have complete trust in his vision and so appreciate his talent and passion for his work.
